This course gives you an understanding and the importance of what co-ordination plays in the design of a low voltage distribution network. Today more than ever, understanding, monitoring and controlling your low voltage distribution network is essential for industry to ensure energy is constantly available and managed as economically as possible. Production facilities, plants, commercial buildings and offices are often 24hr operations, with continuity of supply paramount. If there is a clear understanding of the low voltage network then proper decisions can be made when and as required. With the new software “My Ecodial L” the user can comprehensively design for new additions and check his existing network parameters.
- Power Factor
Course code: PFC Duration: ½ day
This is a good entry-level training course demonstrating the basic principles of what, how and where power factor correction should be used in a low voltage distribution network. You will learn about active and reactive power and how these values determine the energy you use and ultimately pay for. You will also look at the products, technologies and general principles of power factor correction that when applied correctly will improve a networks power.
- Compact Drives and Soft Starters
Course code: VVD1 Duration: 1 day
This course provides an introduction to compact machinery drives for standard to advanced applications. The basic principles of AC motors, soft starters and variable speed drives are discussed, with hands-on workshop exercises using Altivar 312 and Altivar 32 drives. The participant will become familiar with various configuration, optimisation, and monitoring tools.
- Advanced Drives
Course code: VVD2 Duration: 1 day
This course provides an introduction to the Altivar 61 and 71 variable speed drives, and is suitable for all industrial electricians, technicians and maintenance staff who interact with drive technology on a day to day basis. Following on from principles gained in the VVD1 course, topics such as energy saving, EMC, harmonics and best installation practices may be discussed.
The participant will become familiar with basic set up, maintenance and fault-finding procedures through practical 'hands on' workshop exercises and interaction with the live ATV71 training units. Software tools to assist configuration, optimisation and monitoring of the drives are demonstrated.
- Zelio Logic
Course code: LEC Duration: 1 Day
This course introduces you to logic relays. The Smart relay has introduced a new dimension in design of circuits for simple machines and in the building services environment. The possibilities are endless and can be easily achieved by using modules from 10 to 40 I/O. Their ease of setting up provides a competitive alternative to solutions based on cabled logic or specific cards. This course also covers the more advanced features of Zelio Logic, modbus communications, Sequential Flow Chart programming, and more advanced maths and function blocks.

- Twido PLC

Twido is the base line of our PLC range, and as such forms the foundation of our range. Knowing how and why the Twido works is the first step up the PLC ladder. This course will teach from the very basics of Industrial Automation to some of the more advanced functions that Twido can deliver. Through out the course you will receive hands on examples with Twido Suite and Twido PLCs.
- Twido PLC - Advanced

For the more advanced user of Twido we now offer, communications, and small HMI as an add on to the Twido training. This is a one day course following on from the 2 day basic course. All attendees must have a working ability with Twido, or have attended the Basic course.
- Unity Pro PLC Programming

Unity Pro is the latest generation PLC programming software from Schneider Electric.
In this 2 day course the student will be introduced to the Modicon M340, Premium & Quantum hardware, and the Unity Pro environment.
It serves as an introduction to IEC programming languages (Ladder, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram, Sequential Function Chart & Instruction List) for those who wish to advance beyond traditional ladder logic.
Hands on programming through the use of practical labs and the built in simulator reinforce understanding of this powerful software tool.
- Unity Pro PLC Programming – Advanced
Course code: AUT4 Duration: 1 day
Unity Pro is the latest generation PLC programming software from Schneider Electric.
This 1-day course is a logical extension to the Unity Standard Course and designed to introduce Unity programmers to Ethernet Communications techniques available in the Unity Pro IEC61131 environment.
In this hands on course, students establish communications from PLC to PLC, and PLC to ATV71 Variable Speed Drives.
- Vijeo Designer
Course code: AUT5 Duration: 2 days
Vijeo Designer is the configuration software for the Magelis XBTG range of touch screen HMI.
You will become familiar with the features offered by the XBTG range and upon completion of this 2 day course you will be able to install the Vijeo Designer software, develop an application and run it on XBT-G. A number of practical labs are included in the course, which when completed are run on the Vijeo Designer simulator. Knowledge of PLC programming and addressing is required, and knowledge of HMI products is an advantage.
